Jim Northey

Jim Northey has over twenty years experience as a manager, consultant, and implementer in the financial markets. He is currently a partner in The LaSalle Technology Group, LLC, a Houghton, Michigan based engineering and products company focused on providing connectivity solutions for the financial markets.

Jim has been a very active leader and innovator in creating and promoting financial messaging standards by regularly contributing to the FIX and ISO 20022 standardisation efforts. He served as co-chair of the FIX Global Derivatives Committee from 2003 to 2005. Currently, he serves as the co-chair of the FIX America's Regional Committee and is the Industry Standards Liaison for FIX Protocol, Ltd. representing FPL on the ISO 20022 Requirements Management Group and Technical Support Group.

Jim holds a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Indianapolis and an M.S. in Financial Markets and Trading from the Illinois Institute of Technology with an emphasis in Computational Finance. He periodically serves as an adjunct lecturer at Michigan Technological University - School of Business and Economics.

Edwin Montenegro

Co-Chair the FPL Latin American Subcommittee, and CEO and founder of the Extol Company, specialized in FIX solutions for Financial Institutions in Brazil.

Edwin has more than 20 years of experience in the development of software solutions for the Brazilian market which was relevantly remolded in the last decades by features characteristic of emerging countries.

Businessman, innovative, persistent and dedicated to the financial branch, with a panoramic view of several economic sectors, he will seek to sensitize the participants in this event regarding the risks and the direction of the IT investments necessary to maintain the sustainability and competition demanded by the companies which adopted the FIX technology.

Gustavo Schahin

Gustavo, is responsible for foreign institutional equity sales and trading at UM Investimentos in São Paulo, previously Mr. Schahin was responsible for International trading and sales at Socopa Corretora.

Mr Schahin was one of the pioneers in developing and prospecting the FIX Protocol throughout Brazil by enabling it's family business to trade on behalf of its clients on a electronic fashion DMA (Direct Market Access) - after the merger between the equity and futures exchange in Brazil, Mr. Schahin was again the first to bring live electronic trading into the new environment, he joined Bovespa as a member of the International Committee for the exchange in 2007 where he helped to draft new rules and procedures to make international trading into Brazil simple and accessible, he has over 10 years experience in the equity markets all of which has been spent in roles directly associated with electronic trading, order routing and foreign investments.

Mr. Schahin is also a board member of LS-Squared International Group, that focuses in foreign investments into the Latin American region.

Kevin Houstoun

Kevin has over 20 years financial services industry experience and has initiated and implemented electronic trading technologies first at Robert Fleming Asset Management and then at Solomon Brothers.

Utilising his unique understanding and knowledge, Kevin has co-authored one of the world's most performant FIX engines with his company Rapid Addition Limited, Rapid Addition specialise in product innovation in the FIX marketplace, offers a range of high performance FIX engines and tools which are used to advance the trading capabilities of firms globally. RA's clients currently include leading Stock Exchanges, buy-side and sell-side firms specialising in FIX.

Kevin is also currently Co-Chair of the FPL Global Technical committee and has been intimately involved in the technical development of FIX for over 10 years.

Rapid Addition recently launched www.electronicdealing.com, a free vault and editor for the production of FIX ATDL files, RA did this because it believes consistency of implementation of these files is critical to the success of FIX ATDL.

Elton Melo

Elton Melo, is a systems consultant of Isban (Ingeniería de Software Bancario), which is part of the Technology and Operations division of the Santander Group. Isban develops software and provides system integration services, which are shared by the different companies of Santander.

Elton was an active participant in the first FIX & FAST training, provided by Jim Northey at BM&F-Bovespa Institute in 2010. He helped in providing background and documentation on how the Brazilian markets functioned.

Elton is graduated in IT, with a specialization in web solutions and more than 10 years of experience in financial institutions. In 2010, he was awarded as a Bloomberg OMS Innovation Partner. Elton is also an experienced translator, trekker, diver and photographer.

Jack Moubayed

Jack Moubayed is an IT professional with over 10 years of consulting experience. Currently, Jack is an Implementation Manager at Charles River Development, based in São Paulo. He has been heavily involved in expansion of the Charles River FIX Network (CRN) into the Brazilian market and in evolving the company's offering to the broader LATAM region.

Previously, Jack worked for various software providers including Linedata Beauchamp Hedge Fund Solutions and eForce Context.  He holds a BE in Computer Engineering and an MS in Computer Science.

Outside of work, Jack is an adventure traveler and a marathoner. He is currently in the middle of a 7-continent marathon challenge to help raise awareness and support for various human rights organizations.

Marcio Castro

Marcio Augusto de Castro, 42, is IT Officer - Trading Systems and Post-Trading Systems and Market Data at BM&FBOVESPA, responsible for the matching engines MegaBolsa and GTS, as well as the Gateways for DMA, Order Entry and Market Data for the Exchange, and the post-trading systems, including depository, clearing & settlement and CCP. In his role, Marcio is heavily involved in FIX either for support and evolve the Exchange´s systems as well as the market participants: brokers, ISVs, DMA Providers, Market Data vendors and the buy-side.

Prior to BM&FBOVESPA, Marcio was the Professional Services Director at SunGard Treasury Systems for Asia Pacific region (2002), Head of Strategic Development at the ADX - Australian Derivatives Exchange (2000) and Principal System Engineer at IBM Brazil (1998).

Marcio is a graduate in Software Engineering (FASP) and Business Administration (FGV).

Fausto de Arruda Botelho

Teaches Technical Analysis since 1984, having trained over 3,500 students. In 2005 he developed the "ComStop Method" of trading. Author of publications Commodities Manual (1980), Technical Analysis Manual (1984), Technical Analysis and Trading Strategies (1997-2009). Partner and CEO of Enfoque Informações Financeiras and ComStop Investimentos.

Fausto founded Broadcast Teleinformática in 1987, subsequently sold to Agência Estado in 1991. Founder and first president of ANAT (Technical Analysis National Association).
