Which are IT investment priorities for Brokers (BM&FBovespa) at 2011?

If visitations would be only famous people, as Bono, from U2 or Paul MacCartney, it would be a pleasure, but, beyond Brazil, where around world there is a developing economy with payer fanatics in order to capture dollars in megashow?

Due to dollar favorable to importation, this comparison is valid for IT companies, which are trying again in order to achieve target here in the beginning of this year, when we verify a relevant insistence at all software and hardware industry for all companies connected to BM&F Bovespa. What means to invest in order to import software technologies that belongs a series of taxes for Brazilian Reality?

When analyzing the expressive IT investments in last two years, done by Brokers which were strongly capitalized by IPO, we can perceive that some Brokers domestic solutions, while other imported many hardware and software technologies.

In case of orders electronic routing, (DMA Platforms), the sales inducted Brokers to believe the adoption of a determined Trading Platform was enough in order to reach its operational results, and, after two years, we verify that this fact was not a realty for all of these, which are now supporting long term agreements, heavy termination fines, amounts out of current realty, lack of support and operational issues.

A lot of care shall be taken at this moment on foreign companies software solutions. Proposals of solutions in low dollar cost seduces in a first moment, but the sales strategy at supplementary modules with high costs was widely used, and showed the impracticability of these solutions are not ready and tropicalized for Brazilian market, and also exposes the user to the specimen condition, impairing more the result.

We already watched this movie, and we know the consequences caused by suppliers with no support and engagement needed for this activity. It is valid to remember that true parts of a Lada imported from Russia was not easy.

However, it is not fair to generalize, due to there are many updated suppliers and engaged with these solutions industry for Brazilian Market. A good criterion to define where Brokers can direct its IT investments is to choose a reliable supplier, with history and credibility, and mainly on the case of software solutions, the rule of "less buzz", that is, the less we hear on some company or solution, the best it shall be evaluated, because there is no smoke without fire.

The BM&FBovespa requirements and competitiveness between Brokers will demand investments with care and quality agreement, with the strategic planning of each Company.
